Making Learning to Read More Fun One Word at Time

My Students

Our school strives to create learners who love to learn and take action by using what they are learning in school to make a difference in our community and globally. My students are caring, they take are of each other and work hard to make our school a place where all student belong. They are hard working and curious about the world. My students learn best when inquiring and discovering the information in a hands on setting. My fun firties are full of energy and excitement for learning.

My Project

I will be using the PVC pipes to make phones for students to read to them selves. They are called whisper phones and are so important for young readers to hear the words they are reading in order to self correct. This becomes a challenge when 23 students are all reading at the same time. I will be using the letters to build words and teach how letters work together to make words. The letters will be used for reading games, inquiry, basic skills and understanding of language. Fundamental letter skills are the biggest indicator for reading success. If I can build that foundation in a fun way I can create readers who are successful and love reading.
