My Project

Competing for the attention of children who have grown up in an environment with brightly colored video games, social media and the internet in general can be a challenge in any classroom. Many students find it difficult to focus and remain engaged for the duration of an entire lesson. One way to help combat this issue is to include more hands-on and interactive teaching activities to help keep students engaged and excited about learning.

The process of incorporating hands-on activities during periods of instruction, can be successfully achieved through the use of the right manipulatives.

The ELA and Math manipulatives I am requesting directly aligns to the grade specific skills students should master by the end of Kindergarten. These manipulatives will also allow my students to play a more active role in the learning process.
