Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are huge book lovers, they are always eager to read a book after they finish an assignment or task. They are always sharing with me the stories they are reading. I think that by integrating literacy in other learning subjects such as writing and math, will enhance their understanding and love in these subjects. I have selected books that help teach different math concepts and books that can be used as mentor texts for reading and writing standards.

Integrating literacy will give my students opportunities to learn new vocabulary, link ideas through texts, and summarize key events and details in a text.

Improving students' literacy skills in all subjects will help them build connections between different learning concepts. The bookshelves and books bins included in this project will help organize these books to be more accessible to students. Overall, these books and materials will help captivate student interest and make learning more meaningful.
