Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Flexible seating allows students to focus and take charge of their learning during independent work time. Currently my students sit at their desks to complete their work, but I would like to be able to give them the opportunity to work at the carpet on a lap desk or read a book in a floor seat. I also would like to incorporate more games during indoor recess/play time. This is an invaluable part of our day in kindergarten. Social-emotional learning is very important in kindergarten and the items I am requesting will help develops teamwork, problem solving skills and builds peer relationships.

My students are noticeably more engaged in their work when they are given a choice of where to work and gain social-emotional skills when given more options during play time.

These items will help build a classroom community where students feel safe, empowered and excited to learn!
