Making Learning Fun - From Boards to Bins

Help me give my students materials to use during reading groups and to provide sensory experiences during independent work.

My Students

My students come to school eager to learn. They love working together, sharing their ideas, and helping their peers. Because my students are very energetic, they love learning through active, engaging, and hands on activities. They are not content to sit idly by and let the teacher do all of the work.

These students are highly motivated by learning that occurs through social interaction.

They are always eager to assist their peers in a variety of ways. They love to help friends succeed in anyway they can. They are truly kind, amazing people!

My Project

We use small group work to differentiate the needs of individual students. However, we do not have enough materials for each child in a group.

The materials I have asked for will help improve my students' reading and writing skills.

We will manipulate and build words using magnetic letters, which will greatly improve their reading abilities. The dry erase boards will also aid in this instruction. We will also be using the boards to practice writing high frequency words and sentences. Sensory bins will be used in combination with other tools to create a more stimulating experience while learning, something that many children in today's technology crazed society lack.
