Making Learning Fun for Exceptional Learners

Help me give my students the tools they need to have fun in learning with learning games and tools, self calming timers to develop self-regulation and provide educational resources to make engaging lessons in the classroom.

My Project

In our inclusion classroom we have 23, exceptional learners who have dealt with remote learning, world-wide shutdown and delays in learning due to COVID-19. Since returning to in-person learning there is a definite pattern of delays due to interrupted learning.

Self-regulation tools such as sensory timers, sensory fidgets will support students gaining independence in gaining control of emotions.

Weighted tools for writing will support students who need to develop their writing independence. The child-sized computer mouse is for those that have a hard time typing during school-wide assessments on laptops. I have found creating engaging lessons and learning practice is possible with colorful graphic organizers, gamifying learning with answer buzzers and hands-on and tactile learning games. Lastly, often students get hungry during learning and providing small snacks have helped students to stay focused on learning rather than hunger.
