Help me give my students fun math manipulatives; morning meeting prompts, supplies for our exit tickets, and headphones so they can participate in my blended learning classroom without disruptions.
My class is a diverse group of 4th graders. Our class has students who speak many different languages. My student's families are from all over the world. My students work hard each day to learn. My students always do their best every day in class. My class is always excited to discover new things. My students are always willing to take on a challenge. My students love to use technology to learn new things.
My students enjoy learning math.
They get very excited when we start new concepts. They always strive to do their best in math.
My Project
The items that I have requested will provide academic support and social/emotional support. The grab write social emotional prompts will provide prompts that we can use in our morning meetings. These prompts will help students gain skills in problem-solving, building self-confidence, self-control, and other essential life skills. I have requested math tools that will help my students better understand math facts and solve math problems. Many of my students struggle with regrouping so the magnetic regrouping chart will help them learn and practice regrouping. The giant magnetic graph for the white board will allow me to teach multiplication, division, and fractions using the area model while the students can practice with me using the write wipe graphing boards. The math write boards with number lines, bar graph, and fact family triangles will allow my students to practice their math facts and practice using number lines.
The Magnetic Lined page will be used to provide sentence frames for students to express their ideas during morning meetings and classroom discussions.
The headphones will be used during our reading intervention program, Lexia. I have many students who are below grade level in reading and having headphones will help them get the most from the reading lessons without the disruptions in the classroom.
The post-it notes will be used by the students during lessons. They complete math problems and stick them on their number on the board for a quick assessment. We also use them frequently during lessons through the day. The students use them to keep track of their classroom rewards points which are given based on the character traits discussed during morning meetings and also for being good school citizens.
All things on my list will help create a positive academic and social-emotional learning.
