My students are a lively, happy, and creative bunch of kiddos, each with his or her own story, talents and needs, but working together to make our classroom a welcoming place to learn and grow. I am an ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher and work with 20 students grades kindergarten thru 2nd grade. I help them gain skills in reading, math, and social language.
Over the past few years, many of my students have faced some hardships due to the effects of Covid and limited access to English.
I want my classroom to remain a comfortable, positive environment to encourage perseverance and a love for learning! The letter tiles and games will be used in small group setting to make learning fun and interactive instead of doing worksheets. the math manipulatives (bears and dinosaurs for example) will make math come alive. We will do many activities, such as patterning, sorting, adding/subtracting, and counting games with them. With these materials, learning will pop and come to life for my English Language Learners.
