This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Don't you believe electronic toys engage children? Well, many of my students do not have these toys. Leapsters, with some educational games, will engage my students and not only help them to learn, but will keep them engaged while I am conducting reading groups and testing.

My school is a Title One school.

We have 90% of our students on free or reduced lunch. Many of our students do not have the privileges of having electronic games that other children have. All students love them and deserve to have them. I would love for my students to be able to have this opportunity and to truly learn while being engaged and love what they are doing!

My Project

Leapsters, with some educational games to play, will make the kids feel like they are just playing-but they will be learning while playing and having fun! I spend a lot of time making new centers and they get very bored of them. When this happens, they do not work quietly or get what they need to from the activity. It makes it difficult for me to test or do my reading groups effectively because I am disrupted often and have to stop to redirect the students. The Leapsters will definitely keep them engaged during this time!

By having a few Leapsters in the classroom, it will keep the children engaged.

They will be learning while having fun. Many of them do not have the opportunity to have Leapsters at home. This would be a treat for us all!
