My Students

I teach kindergarten at a Title I school in South Carolina where, regardless of their circumstances, students are challenged each and every day to grow their brains by doing the hard work to the very best of their ability.

My students walk into our class each day full of life and excited to learn!

My hope is to keep their excitement for learning going all year long by providing opportunities that challenge and make them more responsible for their learning.

My Project

My goal with this project is to provide my students with materials for exciting and engaging STEM centers. I chose Magna-Tiles because they provide students with opportunities to work on hand-eye coordination and problem solving skills all while creating and having fun. I have talked with teachers who use Magna-Tiles for various STEM lessons and they each say that their students love using them.

Most importantly, in play children learn how to learn." - O. Donaldson. My students will use the Magna-Tiles, along with task cards, during one of their math and science rotations each week. My hope is that providing them with opportunities to explore and create will allow them to become successful problem solvers and learners.
