Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students range from Kindergarten to Second grade ages 5-7. This class is a Self-Contained program for children with special needs. Their learning and progress was greatly impacted by Covid-19 school closures and virtual learning. My students require very unique tools and adapted support to accommodate their individual needs.
My Project
I am requesting headphones with microphones and a one click mouse for my students to use with their Chromebooks. These resources are necessary to help my students be more successful with their daily instruction. Often times, my students have processing issues that make navigating a normal mouse very difficult. Most of these students have never used a mouse before and struggle with the visual motor planning that it takes to use a typical mouse successfully. Due to Covid-19, a great deal of classroom instruction has become digital and these tools will enable my students to perform to their best ability.
