This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are amazing! Regardless of their socioeconomic hardships, they show up ready to learn. They just don't always have the materials or the resources to help our classroom be successful for all. Many of the supplies I’m requesting will be used to supplement a back to basics reading program. This program requires the use of personal whiteboards but does not supply the markers, erasers or cleaners for the whiteboards and the students can’t supply them. Markers and sticky notes are used for various projects through out the year.
As COVID-19 keeps us all on our toes we still are losing teachers and students every week to this endemic illness.
The kids have to deal with it at home and at school. We don't always get what we need to help them stay healthy in the classroom. Wipes, paper towels, and tissues are supplies we get easily and yet we need them to keep our kids healthy. Teens sometimes forget their basic hygiene needs and at times ask for certain items from their teachers. Having some deodorant on hand is helpful after PhysEd or recess.
