My Students

Being in a drama classroom I sometimes struggle to find new and innovative things for my students. Pushing them to read is something we as teachers all struggle with. But if they had the ability to do it on a tablet, I feel as if I could make the reading less of a chore and more fun.

My students are all very different and it is what makes us statesmen and women!

I have all age levels and abilities in my class. Every student, no matter their age or ability level can enjoy theater arts and have fun while learning new things in my room!

My Project

My students need ten kindles to help improve literacy in my drama classroom. They can use these to read scripts and aid them in choosing monologues and scene cuttings. We will use these materials by reading, cutting and rehearsing monologues, scenes and duets. We will also use these with theater game apps like heads up and improvisation applications. We can also use these to upload videos of performances and asses our learning as students.

The arts get overlooked when it comes to technology.

I want to include this in my classroom so I can begin to catch up to the other subjects taught in my school! I want to create new and exciting things with my students and I feel like these materials are the first step in that endeavor.
