My Students
My middle school students come from a wide variety of backgrounds. Some students have spent their entire school career at my school. Other students have been in multiple schools, still others have never been in school and come from refugee camps in other countries. Often, we have students in attendance who have just arrived in the country. Currently, there are 19 different languages represented in my building.
Even though they come from many different backgrounds they have many things in common, including determination and a desire to be successful.
My Project
I regularly use doodle notes to enhance our note taking in class. When students create their notes, color, texture and patterns are key to helping with making connections and retention of the material. Most students have the standard colors of markers with their supplies. The tropical and metallic markers will allow them to add an extra punch to their notes. The glue will be used to assemble the interactive parts of their notes. My students create tab and flip portions in their notes in order to reinforce the concepts we are learning. The glue sticks will let them do this with minimal mess!
