This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a group of the smartest, little learners in my entire school! They come from different backgrounds; some ride the bus in from far away neighborhoods and some live across the street. We are a blended Special Education and Bilingual classroom within a ninety percent free or reduced-price lunch within a school.

Pre-kindergarten is one of the most important grades in school.

It is the time when students get hooked on education. The best way to hook them is with adapted materials that will allow them to learn in an individualized way.

My Project

Playing with light is a human pastime. From photography to movie making, or simply turning the lights on and off. Light is fun! My students love the light table but at the moment we don't have many light table toys. Instead, they are sharing the same two different games.

While our current light shapes are a great resource, my students would benefit from materials that help them create in 3D.

If we were to get our project funded my students would enjoy the light table as part of our STEAM classroom and not just as the place with the sorting shapes.
