My students need the basic supplies and incentives to keep the classroom running every day. The materials that they cannot afford but add up as a teacher are crucial.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I currently teach a crazy, funny, sweet, group of about 60 fifth graders. I started my teaching adventures in the 2016/2017 school year. During the 2017/2018 year I was able to move up with those same kids and discovered a love for teaching science!
In the next school year, I will be staying in the same grade level.

The kids in my school come in every day, with the best attitude! They overcome the challenges in front of them every day and they continue to grow and excell in everything that they do. I can't wait to see what next year hold for this new group!
My Project
Many of the basic supplies that people so many of us take for granted are out of reach for numerous students. Pencils, paper, binders, and erasers are all staples of the yearly school supply list; and yet year after year, my students are unable bring these materials in themselves. I am always happy to provide for my students and I would greatly appreciate the extra boost in doing so this year! These supplies will be a weight off of both mine and my students’ shoulders in the next school year. I want the focus in my classroom to be on learning, my students shouldn’t have to worry about having the basics in order to make that happen.
In addition, I’ve listed some incentives such as a spinning prize wheel and cap erasers for students on our list.
I’ve learned that the extras and the incentives make all the difference. Prizes and games are great for a little extra motivation in the classroom.
