Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My speech therapy class consists of 47 students from different cultures with various learning disabilities and speech/language disorders. My wonderful school is located in a diverse community, where a majority of my students come from low-income families with limited resources.

I love outdoor and nature activities and I want my students to also love to be outdoors…so one of my favorite activities at the end of the school year is our ice cream making activity!

The students follow all the directions and make their own ice cream and then get to eat it! It can be pretty messy and I would prefer to do it outdoors. With this big wagon we will be able to take the ice chest and all the ingredients outside and enjoy the sunshine while we eat ice cream we made ourselves! The other supplies requested are books about nature and recycling, an ice cream game, desk mat, and other ice cream related items. With all these supplies we are sure to have a fun outdoor experience!
