Making History Come Alive!

My students need these supplies for test taking and primary source analysis, the two volumes of the American Issues book will help in bringing more sources in front of the students.

My Students

My U.S. History classroom is a place where I strive to make history come alive to students. They are a great group of students from a mostly urban and some suburban setting. They work hard and are striving to do their best in all they do.

Mark Twain once stated: "History does not repeat itself, but it does rhyme", I want my student to recognize that rhyme of history when they see it.

I want history to become so alive to them they see it not repeating but playing out in a similar beat and rhythm and are thus able to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow but see how they were rightly or wrongly dealt with yesterday.

My Project

My students will have a simpler and more streamlined test taking procedure, helping to alleviate some of the natural stresses on test day. They will be able to fill in their answer sheets utilizing the Vis-a-Vis Wet Erase Markers on the sheet protectors; thus eliminating the need for costly constant printing or purchase of scantron forms. Storing all the sheet protectors in the 3 ring binder will make it possible for these to be reused throughout the year and from year to year.

The classroom set of multi-colored highlighters will help my students learn to expertly analyze primary sources and the two "American Issue's" volumes will allow me to present more and better sources for them to view.

This will help in making them see history come alive. They will be able to study and examine things from the very time period we are covering and learn to appreciate what is happening in that time.
