Making Healthy Choices with the Help of Feed USA

My Students

To eat is a necessity, but to eat intelligently is an art” said La Rochefoucauld. Help the children in my classroom learn how to view snack as a time for making healthy choices. FEED USA can help us!

I teach first grade to twenty one energetic learners in a high poverty school in Oklahoma.

We value arts integration and the multiple intelligences. We have limited resources in our school but enjoy learning and love learning in hands on ways especially during self selected centers.

My Project

I am requesting a blender to make smoothies during snack to promote healthy choices as well as food bingo and nutrition centers to help children understand the importance of nutrition. The blender will provide students with the chance to see that eating healthy can taste delicious while providing nutrition so that our bodies can function and learn.

Childhood obesity is on the rise but FEED USA and you can make a difference in the lives of these children.

Children need experiences with good nutrition because their bodies are growing but it's hard to resist junk food and soft drinks. Starting children out right develops good eating habits that carry into adulthood.
