My Students
The school year has just begun and we have 30 fantastic 4th graders that have entered our classroom for the first time ready for an exciting year of learning. In our ICT classroom, our goal is to create a comfortable classroom environment where students look forward to coming each day to grow both academically and socially. Our classroom is filled with extremely diverse learners. 40% of our learners receive special education services and the remainder of our class is general education. Our neighborhood is very diverse as well. Many of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch.

We would love for our students to be more independent and make positive choices within the classroom. All of our students deserve nothing but the best! Help us give them the best!
My Project
Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make good choices. During both instructional and independent work times, they are able to choose a location in the room that works best for them. We have noticed amazing differences in our students when given the choice of where to sit using the flexible seating.
Since we've incorporated minimal flexible seating in the room, we have noticed that the students are more engaged and focused on the work.
We would like to incorporate two yoga ball chairs and three inflatable balance stability cushions. The chairs that we picked will provide additional options to our students so they are able to make effective learning choices. We have seen that choice can positively affect our students work. We hope that the additional options will help us grow to be more independent learners and choice makers.
