Celebrating Every Student: Birthdays & Supplies for Success
Help me give my students the often-forgotten tools we need to prepare for a new school year, as well as for our birthday and half-birthday celebrations.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In my Title I art classroom, I strive to create a supportive and inclusive space where every student feels recognized and valued. Many of my students face challenges both at home and at school, and some may not have the chance to celebrate their birthdays or come prepared with necessary school supplies. I want every child to walk into our classroom knowing they belong and are cared for.
My goal is to make sure every student feel celebrated and fully equipped for success.
By honoring birthdays and half-birthdays with small gifts—like silly straws, stickers, wristbands, crowns, and personal birthday notes—I aim to foster joy and build a strong sense of community. At the same time, providing essential supplies such as dry-erase markers, cloth erasers, paint brushes, water bottles, headphones, construction paper, and rulers ensures that all students can participate in learning and creative activities without worry or barriers.
