My Students
The students our school are a beautifully diverse combination of different cultures, socioeconomic statuses, military backgrounds, and life experiences. When brought together under one roof, they form the community that makes our school the unique and special place that is!
My Project
Students often need to visit the counseling center. They come to my office for various reasons -- career development, schedule changes, life struggles, or emotional turmoil-- often with parents or family members accompanying them. While visiting, we often need to share information shown on the computer screen, but it is difficult to see from the other side of the desk, and not a great experience for my students or their families.
With enough seating options for all family members visiting the counseling office, and a portable monitor, duplicating my screen, and sharing information with my students and their families will literally be at their fingertips; the monitor will be lifechanging for each student's visit to my office!
Bookshelves will allow me to put out information from colleges, trade schools, and local businesses so knowledge is always easily accessible and organized for students at all times. Students have an interest in researching the possibilities for their futures -- I want to do everything I can to make that possible for each of them! Light covers will be used to filter the bright, florescent light in my office which is not always appealing or inviting to students -- especially those in turmoil. The covers will provide a gentle filter, and allow for a more welcoming, calming, and inviting space.
Providing the best experience to students in my care is always my utmost priority and making best use of their time is of vital importance.
