My Project

This project includes a list of books that are culturally responsive to my diverse students in Oahu. I carefully handpicked books that are engaging and inclusive to the cultures represented in my demographic area. I feel that it is important for them to feel seen or represented in reading material within out classroom.

The goal for my project is to create a memorable year of reading through providing my students with culturally responsive literature.

I hope to make reading memorable, relatable, and fun! I want my students to enjoy learning, and feel confident while doing it.

My students are diverse and come from many places around the world. They have traveled to the North Shore of Oahu and made it their home away from home. They enjoy embrace their differences, have many similarities in being young, innocent, and all in need of love and support. They dream big and are willing to reach for the stars when they know its worth it. I am here to help them see its worth it, and I am here for them 100% on their journey of learning.
