Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students have been identified with special needs and are participating in a resource/inclusion program with their typically developing peers. They are motivated and caring. They will benefit from any support a donation could offer. Students who are not on IEPs but share the inclusion classroom will also benefit from this project.

My students live in a low-income area with over eighty percent qualifying for free lunch.

Most students have relocated from other countries and are learning English as a second language. As the second teacher in the room, I feel responsible to help all students including those with disabilities and those without disabilities.

These exceptional students may learn differently; however, they are high achievers that never give up. The fight in them makes it easy to advocate for them to have the best.

My Project

Special Education serves an exceptional group of learners. Even though they need more focused teaching they deserve to have the same access.

My students will benefit from the access of technology in all learning environments.

I am a resource/inclusion teacher and move classrooms daily and the computers do not come with me. If I had these Chromebooks, they would! I am also responsible for servicing grades KG-5 where I service up to 40 students. These portable devices would allow me to provide access to the internet in any environment! I find students' interest always peaks when technology or hands-on activities are implemented. This would give the students more ownership of research and activities!

These Chromebooks will also help with differentiating and meeting the needs of my students.
