This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Students in my classrooms face many challenges. I teach a diverse population. Most of my students have learning challenge due to the fact that they are English language learners, have learning disabilities, such as dyslexia, ADHD, ADD, ED, autism, deaf, speech. We have foster children as well as students coming from single parent households or living with relatives. One common factor is that most of these students who have experienced difficulty or failure in school tend to divert attention from their academic struggles or failure in school.

My Project

With these headphones, my students will be able to listen to a variety of audiobooks. They will be able to learn the sound and pronunciation of words. They will be able to choose from a variety of books that will allow them to read independently at their own grade level. Most of my students struggle in reading due to language barriers. Most of my students will benefit in making the connection to the words and sounds while they are reading. It will help them feel more confident while they are learning to read. The students will succeed because of you!
