This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Informational texts expand our students' vocabulary, build fluency, aid second language learners, offers solutions to real-world problem, and teach children more about the world in which they live.
Super Science magazines focus on subjects that explore life, earth and physical science, and engineering through amazing, real-world applications and kid-friendly topics!
Most of our students rely on classroom and school libraries for reading materials. Over the past year and a half, students were limited to reading texts that were shared on a screen. This project will provide students with articles that cover current events while inspiring students to think like scientists and engineers. Additionally, students will each receive their own magazine that they can read in the classroom and keep at home.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
