My students love to ask questions! We use National Geographic as a resource to answer questions and build curiosity. High interest, non-fiction books can help to motivate even the most reluctant readers by capitalizing on their curiosity in the world around them. There are many benefits to reading nonfiction books. Informational texts expand our students' vocabulary, build fluency, aid second language learners, offers solutions to real-world problem, and teach children more about the world in which they live. We love National Geographic books because they focus on subjects that are interesting. We would love to have a collection of information on all kinds of topics to add to our class library.
