Making Connections Through Weaving

Help me give my students individual looms and weaving supplies to create traditional textiles.

My Project

My students in grades 3, 4, and 5 have been studying textiles, and the ways they are made and used. Having hands-on opportunities to work with various types of textiles, and even create their own, helps kids really understand these age-old processes and the traditions.

Children remember what they experience, and having access to their own supplies as they create something from scratch is priceless.

From the old style weaving looms with fabric loops, to the more sophisticated wooden weaving boards, these materials will provide opportunities for kids of various ages to experience this ancient art.
