Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Kindergarten is an essential year for our young learners to be exposed to phonics because it lays the foundation for strong literacy skills. With this project, I want my students to engage in fun and hands-on literacy centers to make learning exciting and give them the confidence to learn to read.
I plan to use the materials listed for students to apply what we've learned as a whole group into their independent reading stations, and with my small groups.
I've included materials such as play dough, tongs, whiteboards, and crayons to create a variety of reading centers while reinforcing their fine motor skills too! The bins will help organize the centers and allow students to grab and clean up independently.
