My Students
My sixth grade students call themselves The Believers. They have learned to overcome obstacles as they set and reach their academic goals. They live in a working class community in Southern California. Some of my students are English language learners. Others have special needs. One thing they have in common is that they are determined to succeed. They believe in their potential make an impact!
They are enthusiastic about learning.
They work hard and seek help when they need it. Our goal is to ensure that we equip them with the skills and tools they need to excel.
My Project
Our school has been approved to become a film and communication magnet. Students have been brainstorming ways to use their VOICE to communicate their ideas to a greater audience. They decided they want to create a podcast. They have been busy writing content for their first episode. Their podcast is titled "The Believers"!
My students will use the MacBook to research, write, and record content for their podcast.
They are excited to record their intro and first episode! All students will write content and they will decide who the first hosts will be. They have already made a lengthy list of individuals they would like to interview and feature in one of their episodes!
My students are ready with a wealth of information. All they need now is a tool to publish their amazing work. I cannot wait to see their faces when we get our new computer!
