Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am the Middle School Science and 7th-grade homeroom teacher for the 2019-2020 school year. My students are very aware of the world around them and the impact that they make on the planet. As 6th graders, they were always inquisitive about their assignments, and always had questions about what they were learning.
My students are life long learners who always question the world around them.
Language may be a barrier at times, but their passion to learn, collaborate, and grow is always visible.
My Project
The materials I am asking for will be for my environmentally conscious students next year. My incoming 7th graders are quite aware of the negative impact that plastics have on the planet. What better way to start this journey than with a class set of aluminum waterbottles and aluminum straws (for lunch). To ensure that they go not get lost or damaged, I am also requesting over the door pouches to store these items.
Hydration is key to keeping focused at school.
It is my goal to not only incorporate the science behind hydration but also foster their own passion for keeping the planet healthy. So, let's start by making the 7th-grade homeroom a plastic-free zone!
