My Students
I teach some of the world's most creative, hard-working, and vivacious students in the world. I know, I'm biased. They do amazing things in our classrooms, art rooms, concert halls, theaters, and dance studios, and go onto to become top college students and then professionals in their arts and every other field imaginable.
In this high school for the arts, students from all walks of life mix for four dynamic years, and is one of the most diverse schools in one of the most diverse cities in the world.
They are of all races, genders, as well as socio-economic backgrounds.
They are passionate about life and want to use their gifts for the common good, but also question the status quo. They graduate from here knowing their lives are to be used to make this world a better place.
My Project
I love teaching math and am so fortunate to have the world's best students at LaGuardia. Their energy and creativity is unmatched. However, in these pandemic times, all my Algebra students will be learning remotely. Learning math is challenging even in normal times, and now having to learn math through a computer is even harder.
Thankfully many companies have made innovative and creative tools to learn math, and a MacBook would be the perfect device I could use to help students learn.
I've been exploring these tools and can say with some confidence they might even make learning math really fun!
