My students need containers, beads, and glitter to make their own music instruments. We will be making a form of egg shaker in the classroom to give students a real life experience of how to make a musical instrument.
The students at my school are the best students that I have ever had the opportunity to work with. They have a positive attitude and a genuine excitement to learn in all subject areas. Students show high creativity and willingness to go above and beyond teacher expectations when involved in a creative project.
My students show a high interest in their music class and come ready to learn.
In music they develop the skills they need to continue on to middle school, high school, and college. Students learn how to play, sing, dance, and read music. They also engage in writing and creating their own pieces in the music classroom. All students show genuine enjoyment in their music class and it is a joy to have them.
My Project
Students will learn how to make an instrument in their first grade music class. This will give them the opportunity to explore how a simple egg shaker is made using a variety of materials. Students will be able to see the contents inside the shaker, providing them with better understanding of how instruments make sound. Students will use the containers as their basis for their instrument and fill it with their choice of colored beads in order to make their very own personalized instrument. Students will discover how much or little materials they need to fill their instrument with in order to make the best sound.
Students in first grade are learning in their classroom how instruments are made and I would love to support them by allowing them to make an instrument in my classroom.
Students will be allowed to take their instrument home with them to show their parents and enjoy for years to come.
