it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am requesting a donation of LEGO Minecraft sets for our Ecosystems Project. Our goal is to enhance student engagement and understanding of biomes and ecosystems through interactive, project-based learning in our environmental science curriculum.
Minecraft, particularly in its LEGO form, offers a unique and imaginative way for students to construct and explore various biomes—from deserts and forests to tundras and wetlands—while learning about the interdependent systems that sustain life.
Living in the city, many of my students have not interacted with nature in this capacity. This would be an eye-opening experience for them. To increase engagement, I also want to introduce Lego biome kits that students can build as part of STEM lessons, then repurpose as unique, student-created decorations. These projects will not only spark creativity but also teach valuable engineering and problem-solving skills.
I am also requesting a stand-up desk. Many of our students are not successful when they have to sit all day long. I would like to provide some options where students can work standing up!
