My Students
You can make a difference in our classroom by providing wonderful inspiration for writing. Picture books are one of my most important teaching tools. Students can use them for ideas and examples of what to do with their writing.
Our school is a public school that is feeling the cut backs like everyone else.
I have two classes of 28 students. Our budget doesn't allow for extra resources such as the books listed above. The blank books will be used for their finished products.
My Project
Most of my students love to read and many like to write. These picture books (Hooray for Fly Guy!, Dandelions and The Vanishing Coin) will provide a highly visual way to engage students in reading and writing. They deal with almost any topic imaginable, so I am bound to find books that appeal to all students.
I will prepare fun lesson plans to use with these books. The books will be used year after year, and this project will impact many students in future.
I have a classroom full of children, all with different needs and interests.
This project will help me accomplish my goal of having every student become a better writer and develop a love for writing.
