This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I help bring music to 5 different schools in the district and many do not even have a general music class. Please help me bring the joy of music into these students lives! Covid really hit the community hard, and many students and parents were struggling financially even before covid. Among all areas to get hit with hardships, the music department basically shut down for a year and a half. These students are bringing joy to all those around them with the opportunity to express themselves through music and share that experience with others. With these basic supplies, basic repairs, travel cases percussion, reeds for those who need help, cleaning supplies to stay sanitary, and a couple of extra replacement parts for those who need to the help, we can jump start a successful band program and bring some joy to students through music.
