My 1st grade students come from lots of different backgrounds but they were all impacted by COVID 19. I want to help them with their reading and math skills by making the classroom more inviting and comfortable with a new carpet and some new seating. I will use the new books to help my students learn how to process their emotions. The books will also be used to help them learn social skills and how to interact with each other. COVID 19 kept many students from learning these skills at home due to the isolation. The books come with plushies and through using play, my students will be able to learn easier.
