My Students
My team is young and growing. Our team is four years old and we have had to scrap and claw to do fundraisers for the past 4 years to secure proper competitive swimwear.
The high school I coach at has close to 800 students and 80% are high needs children receiving breakfast and free or reduced price lunch.
They come from all over the city of Chicago. The academic caliber of each young man and young woman is high, but they are challenged financially.
My Project
The suits, goggles and caps requested will relieve them of the pressure to do fund raising. They will have to do some, but the materials provided will allow them more time in the pool and less time asking friends, parents and relatives to fund their ambitions in the water.
By meeting the needs of both the girls and boys swim programs, it will provide them a chance to build a savings fund for future equipment needs.
This includes aging lane lines, kick boards and pull buoys. As the students graduate, they can leave a legacy to future aquatic legends. They can return to their Alma Mater with pride and a renewed sense of what it means to compete in the water and the world and prayerfully return with a giving spirit in the future to Donors Choose!
