Makey Makey Student Inventors

Help me give my students Makey Makey classroom invention literacy kits so they can turn everyday objects into robots that perform on command.

My Students

Our students are curious about the world around them. They love opportunities that allow them to explore and create. The possibilities are endless when it comes to their creations, when given the right tools.

Our students have shown a great interest in learning to code.

They want to learn anything and everything about coding and robotics and this inquisitiveness is going to help them in the future! We just have to be able to take their curiosity and nurture it to help it grow.

My Project

Makey Makey invention kits will let students become inventors right in our classrooms! These kits let students turn everyday objects, like bananas or water bottles, into touchpads that perform.

Students will be able to build their own book character dolls and program them to "come alive" or create an animal during a science lesson and program it to move or act.

With Makey Makey, students will be able to create all of the things they imagine and program them to behave in certain ways. Integrating circuitry and game design into everyday curriculum will allow students to quench their curiosity of coding while still learning the standards. Makey Makey invention kits will allow every student to see his/her potential as an engineer, whether it be through dolls, music, dinosaurs, or science.

Through this hands-on exploration students will grow confident in their abilities to CREATE with technology instead of just consume it.
