I have the privilege of teaching K-8 students once a week and middle school elective daily. They are the reason I got into this profession and I will do whatever I can to keep them engaged in learning.
They inspire me every day with their enthusiasm, relentless questions and desire to learn.
We are a tight knit school community dedicated to developing "learners who are confident, responsible, reflective, innovative and engaged." These scholars are innovators, dreamers, scientists, musicians, authors, artists, programmers, and athletes. They are anything they set their minds to!
In our Technology and STEM Lab we are always looking for ways to be creators instead of consumers. We have one Makey-Makey and adding four more will enable more students working in groups to CREATE instead of CONSUME.
My students are motivated by hands on learning and I am looking for ways to expose them to additional coding and computer science principles without exclusive use of a computer.
These additional resources will provide a comfortable place (stools) to work through the engineering design process in a hands on way. With Makey-Makey there are endless projects. My students have already expressed an interest in making musical instruments, arcade games, and programming light shows with the additional kits.
