Makey Makey Breakey Fixy, Trial and Errors to Success
My students need Makey Makey kits to help them learn and think outside the box. These tools will help students learn the scientific method through inquiry, teamwork, and failure, to help support learning.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My 4th-grade classroom is comprised of students many of whom are immigrants and speak a language other than English at home, are gifted, or part of our special education programs.
I love the start of each day, students line up ready to get to class.
They smile because they know that something will happen. I keep them guessing at what new things I might try or how I will read, and even what I just might wear (I came dressed as Dr. Seuss one day). These students all have different interests from playing sports to reading a good book, but they share a common bond, the bond of curiosity and that is truly an amazing gift.
My students live in a high poverty area in Arizona and our school is a Title I campus and 100% of the school is eligible for the free lunch program. Our focus goals are to greatly improve our writing and our math abilities, but a major focus is to improve our reading ability of fluency to comprehension in all aspects of our school and classroom.
Our belief is every student, every classroom, every day.
My Project
My students love to learn, they struggle at times and can feel unsuccessful. The Makey Makey kits will help support student learning in a fun way that supports learning and fun. They also incorporate games into learning as students don’t look at losing as a failure, they continue until they are successful. This model will help teach and support the scientific method and show my kiddos, you are great and successful, one step at a time. Who knows it may spark even more ingenuity in their thinking to support learning in other ways they didn’t think were possible as they grow in all areas of their thinking structures.
