My students need these craft items to use in their Makerspace STEM Wars/Animation where students in grades 3-5 will be programming robots, creating projects, stop motion clay animation and inventing projects.
After being flooded on the first day of school in 2011, we were displaced for 5 years and are now in our new building. We are starting a brand new Maker Space and will need a lot of materials for the students to complete several 20% projects. Our Pre-K-2 students will be participating in these projects throughout the year. Our students love to create, research and make wonderful projects. I wish for the program to be a huge success and most of all for the students enjoy their learning!
My Project
My Genius Hour students will choose their own 20% project which fosters creativity, innovation, intrinsic motivation and most of all enhanced learning. Each student will come up with an idea, research it, and build it. They will be able to choose subjects that interest them most. The best way to increase STEAM creativity is to build more, and these crafts will continue to help my students grow stronger in science, technology, engineering, art and math. My students already have shown an astonishing interest the Makerspace room, and this project will only help enrich their experiences with inventiveness, imagination, innovation and originality!
