My Project

Makerspace items are engaging for all ages of students. At our school's media center we want to continue to help our students build critical thinking and problem solving skills by using makerspace materials.

With a Cricut machine we can encourage students' creativity and project making.

The Cricut machine also uses new and different computer software for students to learn about. Both students, teachers, and even afterschool clubs would benefit from having the Cricut machine to create classroom décor, posters, and even clothes/stickers/etc. for clubs.

The Lego sets will be added to the small bucket of Legos we currently have in our media center. We want to purchase more Legos to engage students in cooperative learning and working in groups to complete a project. Many of our upper grade students like Harry Potter and other fantasy related series, so getting the Harry Potter set is great for those students to come in and build a little bit at a time. By not building the set all at once the students can see how working together overtime can create a completed project.
