Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach the sweetest elementary-aged students in grades K-5 in a makerspace and library set-up we call the Curiosity Center. They are indeed a curious bunch of students who love building, being creative, and sharing what they create with each other!

My students come from diverse backgrounds - racially, linguistically, financially, and geographically - we serve a community with students from the US and with students whose parents are here internationally to work on advanced degrees from the nearby university.

My Project

We are so fortunate to have lots of exciting tools in our Makerspace already, but we are missing some basic tools like the Makedo kit to help us create. That kit will allow students to create projects out of cardboard and other recycled materials - reducing our impact on the environment and teaching students that "one person's trash..." is our treasure!

The other tools are things that will help organize our materials in the (low on storage) space we have and will replace an Osmo base that was lost or broken in previous years!
