My Students
Working in the library, I see every student at least twice a week. From energetic kindergartners to excited to read 2nd and 3rd graders to 5 & 6 graders ready to use books and technology to learn new things. These students come from a variety of backgrounds, rich and poor, English speaking and non-English speaking.
Like many young people today our students are consumers of technology.
We strive to give them the tools they need to create and use these everyday technologies.
My Project
These products will match our school's investment in our students. By doubling the amount of Spheros, LittleBits, and K'nex in our new MakerSpace, more students will get the opportunity to learn at a time.
By spending time in the MakerSpace, our kids will develop their problem solving skills while learning about engineering, coding, and circuits.
The students will also practice team works skills while using the materials. Our challenges for our MakerSpace will be kid created with help from a team of middle school students at our school. These skills will be an ever present need in their exciting futures.
