Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Each week, students have the opportunity to participate in our "makerspace" time. This time is set aside for students to get creative. They get to use their imagination and make anything they want, using the materials provided on our makerspace cart. Our cart has a variety of materials for students to choose from. Some of the materials are recycled goods that we have saved throughout the school year (toilet paper rolls, cardboard boxes, scrap paper, etc).

The materials requested in this project would be added to the makerspace cart for students to use as needed.

They look forward to this time each week. I have seen some of the most unique creations made from so many different students. These materials would add to the students' creativity. They are always requesting new materials as they build on their projects. Some students have worked on the same project all year long. We would use these materials to help add details to our final masterpieces.

My students love getting to create and I want to give them as many different materials that I can to help boost their creativity.

Mrs. Goodwin will only receive her materials if this project is fully funded by August 31.
