Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Have you ever imagined a seven-year-old designing and engineering in their second grade classroom? Well, it is possible if you give us a hand. Help us make this dream possible!
With this laser cutter, students will be able to apply their higher order thinking skills and acquire their ability to use an engineering design approach at their young age from home with the use of their iPads.
They can design from home using their iPads and I will be able to cut anything they build such as models of structures that can withstand natural disasters as they study weather in Earth Science. I can use the laser printer to etch images onto metal that they hand draw themselves in their iPads as they learn about different mediums used in artistic expression.
My students will be able to apply their math and science skills, and learning will be enhanced as a result. They will be collaborating and communicating with each other with their iPads at home in order to come out with a finished product which I will be able to cut and then mail it to their homes. All of these skills are necessary for them to be college and career ready in the 21st century.
