Libraries are a hub for student activity. Nearly all students in our school visit the library at one time or another and the library provides resources regardless of their academic standing or classes. While STEM labs may offer similar resources, not every student takes those classes or has access to classroom makerspaces. Makerspaces in libraries bridge this gap by providing resources to all students. It ensures that every student has the opportunity to explore their creativity and engage in hands-on learning experiences.
We would like to create a Makerspace to provide an environment that encourages innovation and creativity.
This space will offer students the freedom to explore their ideas, experiment with different materials, and develop unique solutions to problems. We are requesting Felt Sheets, Crayola Washable Paints, Flexible Straws and Connectors Building Kit, Maker Space Craft Tubes Pack and more. The open-ended nature of Makerspaces allow students to think outside the box and push the boundaries of their creativity. Our school library, as an inclusive space accessible to all students, is an ideal location for a Makerspace to thrive and inspire innovation.
