MakerCart: Making Creative Problem-Solvers and Inventors
Help me give my students an opportunity to develop 21st century skills. these supplies will make a MakerSpace cart that will be available for students to design, build, and create.
I teach 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students in a suburb of Dayton, Ohio. My students are between the ages of 11-14 and range in ethnicity, socioeconomic background, and family situation. Overall, like all students and children, they are trying to figure themselves out, deciding who they want to be and how they want to Impact the world. It is my hope that I help guide them on a path of positive decisions that help lead them to a bright future of endless possiblities.
My Project
The supplies listed will go into a portable cart that will allow students to develop engineering skills to complete makerspace projects that complete a number of tasks/goals. In addition, it will be the start of a cart that will have basic pieces that will allow students to independently build and create with LED lights and circuits. These activities will help build thinkers and problem-solving skills. This cart will be a resource for students to explore and pursue their creativity while harnessing some keep components to basic technology and engineering skills that will keep them engaged, interested, and having fun while learning.
