My Students

My students need a Makerbot 3D Printer to ensure that they are learning about and are immersed in emerging technologies critical to providing them with relevant real world engineering experiences that will give them the edge that they need to succeed in becoming our future generation of engineers.

My students that I teach are Buffalo city's finest and brightest Engineering learners.

They come from all sorts of diverse backgrounds and demographics. They are enrolled in an Engineering Technology program here at Hutchinson Central Technical High School where they are learning about Engineering fundamentals in a variety of classes. My class happens to be their Senior level CAD course where we focus on Engineering with 3D modeling CAD software.

My Project

The Makerbot Replicator 2 is an emerging and developing technology that is on the forefront of engineering and manufacturing today. My students would use this tool to be able to create real 3D models of their CAD models that they are engineering on the computer to understand and replicate how real world product development and manufacturing actually occurs. We would be able to design, build, create, test and redesign concepts just as real engineers would.

Buffalo city students face many different challenges to learning everyday.

The Makerbot Replicator 3D Printer would add an extra element of realism to our engineering classroom to further engage and excite our students while providing them with the cutting edge resources that will give them that edge in their career pathway toward becoming engineers.
